Private Piano Lessons are 40 minutes long once a week. I go over piano techniques and other musical skills like rhythm, music theory, ear training, sight reading, and improvising. My personal goal is to have fun with my students in each lesson.

As a teacher, my role is to support the personal goals of my students. Depending on the stages of my students’ lives, their dreams, and the purpose for the lessons, I am flexible with what I teach. For beginners, I often focus on piano mechanical skills for the first 20 minutes and rhythm, music theory, ear training, ensemble skills, and sight reading for the second half of the lesson. As a student progresses, the piano pieces assigned are longer - therefore the piano skill instruction will be a greater part of the lesson.

I encourage students to get together to share and perform with the other students. Each year we have a performance recital in June to celebrate together as well as group ”Get Together” twice during the year. My hope is to provide opportunities to be in front of others to play.
